Recently Alfredo took a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. While there, he participated in a health fair hosted by a local HIV prevention and education organization called Vallarta Enfrenta el SIDA (VES). In addition to meeting with some of the residents and attending HIV prevention meetings, Alfredo was given the opportunity to talk about the campaign and his role as a spokesmodel. Alfredo had an amazing time and hopes to see HIV STOPS WITH US-Puerto Vallarta one day.

Hi I live in Mexico City and I've been HIV Positive since 2004. I live a very good life because my CD4s and CD8s are at a normal status. As a matter of fact, I don't have to take any medicine or antivirals, and according to my doctors, I won't have to take it for a while. When I saw your page on the internet, I subscribed to it immediately because I think it is very useful and a good thing. So I was wondering if it could open something like that in Mexico, and now that I see this comment from Alfredo, I would like to get in touch with the association of VES. Can you give me information about them or how to contact them?
Thanks
JORGE

Hola Jorge - thank you for your message and comments. I am very glad you are doing very well and that at the moment you don't have to be on medication regimen. As per the information you are requesting, the executive director from VES is a very dear friend of mine. You can find them and or contact them via their website: www.vallartaenfrentasida.org - there you'll find telephone number and email address. As per a similar project such as HIV stops with us in Mexico...well, someday it may be possible. I am sure our headquarters in San Francisco will be very happy to learn your toughts and wishes, hopefuly someday not far away. In the meantime take good care of yourself and ckeep up the positive attittude and do not hesitate to contac us anytime. Good luck in all you do and receive big hugs from Boston, Massachusetts.

Meeting Alfredo in Vallarta was a once in a lifetime kind of thing. He is a gifted, caring, powerful soul that reached around our community here and gave us all a big dose of his self confidence with his warm hugs, laughter and hilarious and touching tales of his life. He will, no doubt, make a big difference here and wherever he goes. We really look forward to seeing him again.
Tracy, part time Puerto Vallarta resident
